I've played World of Warcraft on-and-off since 2006, but I'd taken a break of a few months before Mists of Pandaria was released. Wanting to find out some of the new features of the expansion and get an update on the general class and game changes I'd missed, I ordered this guide.Roughly half of the guide is pretty basic information for new players. They start off with some very basic questions like "Why should I play this game?", and move on to things such as the UI, elements of the game and information about about each race, class and even breaking down the first few quests of each starting zone. While interesting to glance through quickly while imagining just how overwhelming this massive game with 4 expansions might be to a brand-new player, I doubt I'll look through these sections again.More useful to an experienced player is the information on class changes in MoP. And the information on the continent of Pandaria itself, while giving a good quick overview of each zone and other features, just doesn't have the space to go into much depth.I spotted a few errors and omissions here and there, but I'm sure that's more due to the publisher having to reach their print deadlines while some portions of the expansion were not yet quite completed or finalized.Overall, I'd highly recommend this book to someone interested in playing the game for the first time - especially since the older BradyGames WoW guides are now fairly obsolete, due to the multitude of basic game changes, class revamps, and Cataclysm's remake of the old world. For an experienced player this guide is less useful, but may help answer a few basic questions or provide some light reading entertainment.The information contained in this guide will be extremely helpful for players new to World of Warcraft and those who have recently upgraded to Mists of Pandaria. The graphics are absolutely beautiful. The physical book is everything one would expect; the Kindle version is a major disappointment. First, it can be viewed only on a handful of devices--check the link on the product page to be sure yours is compatible before purchasing. Notably, it cannot be viewed on any desktop computer. Second, it appears that to make the Kindle edition, the printed book was photographed, not processed from the electronic file. This means that there are no hyperlinks and no searchable text. The images are surrounded by significant white space unless you manually resize each page as you come to it. There is much pinching, spreading and swiping involved in reading this book electronically, and you must read the table of contents and then manually enter the page number to go there.To my mind, there is no excuse whatsoever for the lack of attention paid to the Kindle rendition. Unless you urgently need to have it with you on the go and don't want to carry a heavy tome, you will be better served by getting the print version. You will certainly be able to read it more easily and comfortably in print. How unfortunate. And inexcusable.World of Warcraft has expanded the system adding new character choices and lands to explore in Mists of Pandaria. Every scene is well thought presenting challenges for new players and old experienced gamers too. They have raised the levels of experience each player can achieve through completing quests, gathering needed items for crafting, or creating items within their chosen professions.This guide contains many useful tools for making your adventuring within Mists of Pandaria more fulfilling. Complete atlas for old and new areas of play with descriptions places of interest. A introduction to the newest playing class Monk of Pandaria with guidelines for play. A description of many changes with this new expansion, including magic items, armor, and character spells and abilities. A really good basic guide you will reach for after you've mouse eared the pages.Of course all new content added since the lastest patches will not be in here, but it's a very complete list of all the new stuff in Pandaria. I got it primarily for the info on the new dungeons and factions. Oh, and the new monk-class. It's great for that stuff.Of course, most reviews of these guides will say they're great for beginners, but useless for pro's. I disagree with that, since you really can't drop into Pandaria as a beginner, there's a LOT of level through before you get anywhere near this stuff.This book has a lot of useful information particularly as you are getting started. I refer to it often. The only real drawback and I consider it a major one, is the fine print. I usually do not have a problem when reading but the print size here is way too small. I had first purchased the Kindle version but that was so impossible I returned it and bought this version. Also the book is very heavy due to the number of pages and the type of paper it's printed on so it can be akward to hold. Unfortunately the dvast amount of graphics in these bokoks doesn't translate well into digital format & becomes little more than a picture browser. It does contain every bit of info I'd hoped, but I'll return to buying the shelf copy of my future Brady purchases.This may be for a now old expansion, and the info now pretty much obsolete, I did not purchase it for the means of using it with the game I got it more as a companion to my every growing collection of other World of Warcraft books. Mists was an expansion I did not really play through. It has been well used but otherwise in great condition. A must for any lover of the game who wants to collect the books.If you collect the Brady Guides for your WoW expansions, this is a good addition to your library. In depth coverage of the new material as you'd expect. No downsides.If you have never bought this series of books you are missing out. They are clear and precise giving you a head start on each add on .Another quality Book from Brady, explains everything for new players and experienced players for the new expansion. a must for all WoW players85-90 Level ups , A giant injured Turtle and Killer Pandas .
