Little big for youthI had no idea Rawlings would ever build or design an adult chest protector with a velcro strap. You heard that correctly - a velcro strap. If I missed the fine print somewhere - that's on me, but I would have never thought to look for it. If it were a $99 set for a child, I might understand - but an adult set and for $250? Shin guards saved the rating - very well designed and built. Helmet is what you would expect. Would really like to return it, but we were in a pickle and needed gear as my catcher grew seven inches over the winter. Chest is 27" high by 17" wide. Leg guards are 27" long. I'm 5'9 and the adult set was way to big for me. The shoulder pieces seem a bit longer than they need to be and leg guards went past my thighs. The chest strap is velcro, which seems like it would wear out over long term use. Good quality but had to send back. The size makes it unusable.Great hear. Very durable and fits 9-11 U players well. I bought a second set this past season. The first set is still usable for a third season.This is a good quality catchers gear set. My daughter has used this for several weeks now.
